The story of the winery started in 1924 with Francesco Capetta. He is the son of peasant farmers who were humble and industrious and for centuries transformed the Langhe, in Piedmont region, into fertile and lush soli through painstaking effort and dally struggle. The Langhe also nurture in him an entrepreneurial spirit that from early age would allow him to understand and foresee the transformations that were taking place.
In 1953 he purchases an old farmhouse just outside of Santo Stefano Belbo, in Piedmont. In 1960 he begins to sell wine in bulk, demijohns and two-liter bottles. In 1970 the first modern sparkling wine system is installed. Until 1990, the company consolidates through modern distribution channels and expands throughout Italy.
1994, was a traumatic year for the company. Incessant rains swell the Tanaro and its tributaries. The banks broke violently in a manner never witnessed before, destroying almost the entire production area and most of the bottles stored in the warehouses. Everything seems lost, but Francesco, rolls up his sleeves and calls in the farmers and producers from all the surrounding hills. In 20 days, the production begins again.
In 2000 the company expands abroad gaining important positions in Northern Europe, Mexico, the United States, Australia, Japan and South Korea.
Today Capetta continues to invest in technology and expand to the global market, preserving its identity.
Its colour is medium intense straw yellow. Its bouquet is typical of Moscato grape fragrant, complemented by floral notes of acacia. In the mouth, the taste, sweet and lively, surprises us with its persistence and distinctiveness.
A lovely sparkling sweet wine with ruby hues. Its taste is sweet and round with characteristic and refined aromatic notes of muscat, while the delicate but persistent foam completes a wonderful effect.
